Catching Up with Anthony Fedorov

American Idol season 4 finalist Anthony Fedorov will star as Joseph in “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.” Oklahoma City’s premiere regional theatre company, Lyric Theatre, is bringing Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical to their town from July 21st to July 25th. Season 3 runner-up Diana DeGarmo will also star in the musical. We recently caught up with Anthony to find out more about his thoughts on playing Joseph, life after Idol, and the future.

Anthony starred in “The Fantasticks” off-Broadway, and now he’s starring in “Joseph.” When asked what he loves about starring in musicals and live performances, Anthony said, “You get to combine acting and singing. A musical is a much more detailed way to tell a story.”

Stars such as Donny Osmond, Leif Garrett, and David Cassidy have all played the lead of Joseph. Anthony said that playing Joseph “will be a great challenge for me. If I’m half as good as everyone who played Joseph before, I’ll be thrilled.” Anthony plans to tackle Joseph’s role with “determination, heart, and soul.”

Diana DeGarmo will play the role of the narrator in “Joseph.” Anthony has met Diana several times before. He says he admires her, thinks she’s phenomenal, and that there isn’t a more perfect person to play the role of the narrator.
