Happy Birthday, Elliott Yamin!
Elliott Yamin finished in third place during American Idol’s fifth season. His R&B sound and nice guy personality made him popular with America. Since his time on American Idol, Elliott has had a successful career as a recording artist.
This May, Elliott released his sophomore album, Fight for Love, on which Elliott co-wrote many of the songs. His first album, Elliott Yamin, debuted at #3 on the Billboard 200 chart. The album was the highest new artist debut on an independent label in SoundScan history. On October 12, 2007, the album was certified gold. The hit single, “Wait for You” off Elliott Yamin, was certified Platinum in digital sales on October 16, 2008.
In addition to his busy career as a recording artist, Elliott always makes time for the charities he’s involved with. As a diabetic, Yamin has worked with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, the Promise to Remember Me Campaign, the Inspired by Diabetes Creative Expression Competition, the Life for a Child Program, and the World Diabetes Day.
