Diana DeGarmo in "The Toxic Avenger"

Diana DeGarmo, the Season 3 runner-up, will join the cast of The Toxic Avenger in a limited engagement. She is returning to Broadway starting Friday, August 14th, as Sarah, the sexy, blind librarian. Named the “Best New Off-Broadway Musical” by the Outer Critics Circle, The Toxic Avenger is a charming love story and laugh-out-loud musical. The story includes an unlikely hero, his beautiful girlfriend, a corrupt New Jersey mayor, and two guys who play everyone else- bullies, mobsters, old ladies, and stiletto-wearing back-up singers. Audiences from teenagers to senior citizens love this hilarious new hit musical, which boasts to have 1,000 laughs including “the most memorable and unbelievable duet you’ll ever see on any New York stage.”

After making it to the finale of American Idol’s third season, Diana released her debut album, Blue Skies, which went to No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 Singles chart. Next, Diana starred as Penny Pingleton in Broadway’s Hairspray, and as Brooklyn in the first national tour of Brooklyn: The Musical. She also starred as Dorothy in the first national tour of OZ, The Musical and in Back to Bacharach and David at the Music Box at Fonda in Los Angeles.
