Idols at the Super Bowl
Some of our favorite past Idols will be all over Miami this weekend for the Super Bowl. Whether you're on the ground or watching the big game from home, here's who to look out for:
Carrie Underwood: The Season 4 winner will sing the national anthem to officially kick off Super Bowl XLIV, followed by Queen Latifah who'll deliver "America the Beautiful." It won't be Carrie's first time trying to hit those tricky high and low notes, she also sang the anthem at the 2007 World Series in Denver, at the 2005 NBA Finals in Auburn Hills, Mich., and during the NFL playoffs in 2006. Suffice it to say, she's had plenty of practice, though this will be her biggest audience bar none.
Chris Daughtry: Having recently wrapped a successful European tour, Daughtry will perform at the NFL's Super Tailgate Party outside Sun Life Stadium just before kickoff. The band will play a 45-minute set that includes the hit single, "Life After You," and is expected to go on at 3:45 p.m. Eastern time. The performance will be broadcast on CBS as part of the network's pre-game coverage.
Jordin Sparks: Season 6 winner Jordin Sparks hosted three days of events at the Edec roc Renaissance Miami Beach. Billed as the "Jordin Sparks Experience," it included a duet performance of her hit "No Air" with Season 7 runner-up David Archuleta. (If you haven't already seen it, check out the video below — Archie could give Chris Brown a run for his money!) And now that Jordin's hosting responsibilities are done, she's back to charity work, auctioning a Pennyroyal Silver pendant that she designed to help in the Haiti relief effort.
