The Top 12′s musical inspirations
You can tell a lot about a person by their music collection, which is why we asked each member of Season 9's Top 12 for the song or album that changed his or her life.
The artist who inspired Crystal Bowersox to become a singer? Ray LaMontagne. Lacey Brown's life-defining musical moment? Hearing Patsy Cline's "Crazy" at the age of 4. Lee Dewyze's most influential record: "Tea for the Tillerman" by Cat Stevens — he has the lyrics tattooed on his arm!
Read more about the Top 12's musical inspirations in a special photo gallery we put together here.
And let us know: Did any of the choices surprise you?
