oh my goodness, i tried to vote but danny’s line stayed busy all night and i couldn’t get through! that’s a blessing in its self! just danny’s smile makes me smile, and his voice makes me tear up and get chills. for everyone that knows him….remember, a blessed man is not measured in how much he has but how little he needs. I have to start by saying that I am an entertainer as well. I have recently lost someone in my life November 2, 2009, he was a great father a wonderful brother and a great husband as well as son to my parents. My brother died at the age of 37, he and I are the same age. We were so close and it has been a very dramatic and devestating thing since he died at the hands of doctors that shouldnt have been docotors. He died of a heart problem that they were treating as something else. You have been such an inspiration and I have started singing again. I hadnt really sang alot since my brothers death and have my own dj business so I kinda cut back on my business but you have gave me the strength to go on and hopefully will be hitting the studio very soon. Thank you so much for all you do and will do for many years to come. I have LOVED you since day 1 seeing you at the auditions and will vote for you till the end. God Bless you in all you do, My Mom is going through a rough time right now as my brother passed away last year and I just want you to know that the song Hero you sang had uplifted her spirit and that its easy to know that there are others out there who loose a loved one and who go through the same hurt from such a loss and are able to help others in the same pain and I believe you can help others through your music. but when i saw your audition’s performance on tv in Malaysia, i fell in love with your voice.. your voice is so beautiful especially that day when you performed “hero”.. that was the best “hero” i have ever heard.. even mariah carey can’t sing that song better than you. Danny, Saw your concern shown on the latest episode of the dancing. Just follow the drum beat on the song as to when to move your feet. Try listening to a song without a drum beat in it and see how hard it is to find a focus more on the way that song goes. (I’m hearing a ton of INXS songs on the greatest hits right now and it’s full of drum beat).
I have to say also , doesn’t matter if one becomes the “idol” or not, speaking spiritually , keep in focus that to be an idol is not a positive thing in being blessed always. IF you win, it’s meant to be part of GOD’s plan for you in ministry . IF you don’t make the finals or win in this (voters can be so fickle on how they view a favorite , all you have to do is pick a wrong song some week sadly) you will go far regardless from here.
Being on the show gives you exposure and recording scouts are watching it . There is a venue to get your message and the word spread where perhaps some don’t ever set foot into a church otherwise. See this all as a platform for greater things later on.
KEEP THE FAITH and just be yourself. Take what judges on there say with a grain of salt.

I remember an emotional story of a guy who auditioned, then i saw DG sing Jesus take the wheel ( we are behind here in NZ)… I am a singer who has soul,,,,,,,,but man, this guy took my breath away I wanted to hear him over and over again. I can now do that, and have since read about who he is and his story. It brought me to tears, to hear him sing first and even more so to find out about his loss. If you know him, please thank him for his determination, and stickability and for sharing his gift with the world. Regardless of the outcome of the show………..for goodness sake someone please sign this wonderful talent of a man!!! I will buy his music. And he aint half handsome with his Spexy’s ( sexy spectacles).!!

My bf and I refer to you as Iron man, one because you look a little like Robert Downey Jr. and two because of your strength to carry on so soon after loosing your wife. My husband was killed at a young age he was only 22 I was 21 and I know it takes a lot of strength to carry on.

I have been a Gokey fan since your audition. Your story is one of the most inspiring I’ve seen / heard. My wife was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last January (08) and today she is a pancreatic cancer survivor. We would not have made it through the tough times over the last year + without the power and presence of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Our fight is not over though as we continue to get her treated through a clinical trial. Often I’ve wondered what I would do if I were to lose her. Danny – you’ve been an inspiration to me. You’ve helped me to see that life goes on and that we can make it what we strive to make it. It may not be easy but it’s possible if we just keep trying. I know Sophia was an inspiration to you and that inspiration has carried you forward. I was saddened when your “brother from another mother” was eliminated from the competition but with Jesus at the wheel – He will drive you straight to the top – American Idol 8 winner – where you can continue to make the difference He has challenged you to make. I wish you well Danny and I wish you the best of luck as you continue your endeavors – wherever they lead you. God has given you an awesome talent. Thank you for being an inspiration to me. Why was Allison Iraheta booted while Danny was rewarded for one of the worst performances in Idol history? I was a fan, but no longer….

NO WAY should Danny have been voted out of the finals! It was certainly not because I did not vote for 2 hours straight the night before. He sure has my support as I am anxiously awaiting the first CD to get full songs rather than the snippits i have downloaded from iTunes. Since Idol puts so many restrictions on a person, this may work out for the best in the end. As a very dear friend of mine once wrote me when I was very down, sometimes God says yes, sometimes he says no, and sometimes he says wait. With the passion in your voice, Danny, and your heart in the right place, you should NOT have to wait too long. Danny is still MY American Idol choice! See you on tour in July!

You have the opportunity to influence millions of young people with your talent, courage and grace. Since I became a fan of AI, all my personal bets – from Taylor Hicks to David Cook, won the competition. This year though came a big surprise for me. Actually the result of last night’s show truly was disappointing. Danny Gokey is my favorite this season. I was hoping even that he will beat Adam Lambert’s stupendous performances. But somehow, things didn’t quite turn out as I hoped it should be. The judges themselves were surprised, the look in their eyes showed that it should have been Adam and Danny who will go for the final 2. Danny Gokey – his lovely eyes, boyish looks, breath-taking smile – can really captivate the audience, especially when he sang ‘You are so beautiful.’ His voice is full of passion, he moves everyone who hears and sees him sing.
I know he’s been through a lot after his wife passed away. There must have been so much sadness or even emptiness probably at one point in his life. Yet look at him sing, dance and even scream! His voice, his heart, his eyes only show, that there is love, there is life, there is hope.

Hi Danny! My family met you at The Grove on Tuesday May 12 right after the taping of American Idol. You played with my daughter and my boyfriend and your brother-in-law , Rick have been talking via email. He works for Entertainment Tonight….Anyway, I am VERY VERY sad that you were voted off American Idol last night but I KNOW you will do great things with your amazing voice. I have always been a fan but after talking with you and you giving attention to my little one you have proved to me that YOU should’ve been the next American Idol. I don’t get it…….. Chris?! You are a much better singer, hands down. I felt so bad for you last night I could hardly sleep, my heart was shattered. You deserved to be the American Idol and you always will be in my eyes! You are a fantastic, wonderful, talented singer and without a doubt others know this too. Danny, I’m still so stunned and heartbroken that you are not in the top 2. You should be the AMERICAN IDOL. You have the best, most interesting, sexysmoothhot voice, so powerful, so masterful, but most importantly, when you sing, you MOVE people. You touch people. I just don’t understand it. Adam & Kris do nothing for me. You are so incredibly talented…but not everything in life turns out the way we hope. I know you know that better than many people and yet, in the face of so much grief and despair, you pulled it together and came out and BLEW EVERYONE AWAY every week on the stage. How hard was that? I can’t imagine.

Danny, Hi, my name is Peggy and I live in upstate NY…..this is the first idol I have watched since season 1. All I can say is although you were eliminated, YOU are an american idol and sooooooo much more. The fact that you have been able to pursue your dream in spite of your loss is an inspiration to us all. I recently lossed my father and my twin daughters have cystic fibrosis so every day is a challenge for me. I love music and I think you are one of the best singers I have ever heard. Music is something a person can throw themselves into- it helps them feel good and get through the hardships of life. I literally sobbed when you where eliminated, I don’t even think that word is appropriate, you have other avenues to pursue. I cannot wait to buy your first cd. Danny; You did a great job. You overcame some stuff inside yourself. I don’t know if there’s anything more challenging than that. You are such a positive force and I know God is proud of you. I knew you stood for God before it was made public . You helped drive home for me …”Little children…let us not love in word and tongue…but in deed and truth.” I don’t know if because of the arena of the competition the specific words were discouraged or it was your choice….but I’m telling you, it was a God thing. I was disappointed that you didn’t win the American Idol. I think it will work out in your favor though. You are certainly a very talented man with a beautiful voice and I believe you will go far. I just wanted to say that all 3 are great singers, and all have there differences, but Danny has been the one I voted for the whole show from the auditions all the way to the night he got voted off. The fact that you are not jelous or angry about the results and are happy for Kris and Adam shows alot about the person I knew you were the whole show. You are a great guy with alot of love to give. You were always happy and smileing, never let anyone know if you were scared or unhappy, you always new how to keep that smile on and make everyone happy. I had chosen my American Idol and it was not Kris Allen or Adam Lambert or any of the other many contestants- it was you. You inspired me with your voice, your attitude, and your spirit- an unbreakable spirit! One that gives me hope to try and to reach for what God has for me. Danny, I am a huge fan. I would watch you every week and was very sad when you were voted off. You remind me of my son. He was in a car accident spring break of his senior year. By the grace of God he survived. The doctors told me he would have brain damage. God had other plans for him. He now writes poems, more like rap type poems sharing what God has done in his life. He has been laying some tracks down to music. You have so many of the same mannerisms when you talk and sing. I am from arizona and he lives in texas and I miss him so much, watching you made me feel closer to him. I can’t wait until your first cd comes out.
